Jefferson’s pilothouse combines the best of both worlds, traditional styling with performance cruising.
Jefferson’s pilothouse combines the best of both worlds, traditional styling with performance cruising. The traditionalists will appreciate the classic lines & layout of a resilient seagoing yacht. The reverse raked pilothouse windows are a hallmark of the trawler design that are also functional for shedding boarding seas and reducing glare. A raised pilothouse not only serves as a the command center for the vessel & her systems but also plays host to many social settings where the view serves as a beautiful backdrop to evenings chatting with friends or for reading a good novel while curled up in a warm blanket.
Where the Jefferson parts ways from the traditional full-displacement trawler is in her underbody & power plant. The Jefferson is a high performance yacht capable of speeds in excess of 20 knots. Cruising speeds of 16-18 knots are where she shines, providing a sensible mix of fuel economy & faster cruising speeds. What most people don’t realize is that down in the displacement speed range the Jefferson Pilothouse yields nearly the same fuel consumption as the single engine trawlers. This flexibility of ultimate fuel efficiency coupled with performance cruising makes the Jefferson an ideal candidate for your cruising plans.
This line of yachts is hand built in Taiwan at the Hershine shipyard. Their craftsmen have been building some of the finest yachts produced by Taiwan & have been working with Jefferson for over 25 years. The finish & detail of the pilothouse series is of the highest quality. From the glimmering high gloss varnish to the decorative ceiling panels & contrasting wood trim, the craftsmen’s skill & expertise are in evidence throughout this beautiful boat.
It is a matter of taste & desired use that will dictate which style best suits your lifestyle. We would be happy to discuss the benefits of each model & help you understand which model is just right for you. Please contact us today to learn more.

The Pilothouse series ranges from 54' - 64'. The layouts are designed to grow from midship aft. In other words the forward staterooms and pilothouse all share the same dimensions regardless of size. As the series grows in size it is the flybridge, saloon/galley and cockpit that increase in length. This system greatly simplifies the series and allows you to narrow in on the exact size that works best for you.
Starting up top you can see the accommodating flybridge layout features twin L-settees aft of the steering station. An integral sink and cabinet are conveniently located on the starboard side. The lower cabinet can easily accommodate an undercounter refrigerator. The radar arch is the preferred location for mounting scanners, antennae as well as additional deck lighting and speakers. The aft flybridge deck has been left open for easily placing a tender and/or kayaks.
Safety was the primary design consideration for the deck. Deep bulwarks forward ensure solid footing when up on the foredeck. The raised coaming in front of the pilothouse, known as a portuguese bridge, serves as a barrier to boarding water when heading into heavy seas as well as providing a secure passageway around the pilothouse. You have the option of covered side decks for access aft or you can specify a "wide body" design that extends the saloon to the hull sides. Each layout has its merits that we can review with you. The cockpit has been designed with a variety of configurations available. The larger models offer additional covered deck space or you can specify a second uncovered cockpit well that serves beautifully as a fishing or diving platform or as additional space for entertaining company.
The interior has several desirable layouts. The galley can be located in the saloon as shown here or you can specify a galley--up design. The saloon can be set up in a number of configurations for optimal seating. The master and guest staterooms remain unchanged throughout the series. Note the master head can be specified with a bathtub. Some owners have requested a two-stateroom design to maximize the size of the master stateroom. This is especially desirable for the liveaboard owner. Aft of the engine room the larger models allow for the placement of a crews quarters or utility room perfect for the hands-on owner who wants a bench, vise, tools and spares.
