The galley shares the same open area as the main saloon. There is no bulkhead or tall counter to obscure the visual flow between the two spaces, which allows natural inclusion of those in the galley with those in the saloon. The galley layout sensibly places the stove & microwave forward with the sink outboard & counter space aft towards the settee. All with beautiful granite counter tops.
The galley feels very open & spacious, partly due to the fact that the ceiling over the galley extends to the same height as the pilothouse. This seemingly insignificant detail actually helps create a sense of openness from within the galley.
The marine refrigerator has been positioned above floor height to allow for far easier access to both refer & freezer goods. Again, a small detail that will be appreciated every time you open the refrigerator.
Head
The midship head is truly impressive, especially given the Fathom’s size. An oversized stainless steel port provides tremendous natural lighting not to mention a beautiful view outside. The Tecma freshwater flush head is typically standard equipment on European megayachts. Tecma produces some of the quietest & most efficient marine heads available. What’s nice is that they actually look like a quality residential toilet you would expect to find in a modern home.
The sink is a highly polished stainless bowl with a beautiful chrome faucet. And, the counter top is granite.
Forward of the vanity is a generously proportioned shower stall that is a welcomed feature on a 40’ vessel. A fully hinged glass door allows easy entry in & out of the shower. A bench seat is molded in to provide a secure position to wash while underway. A quality residential shower fixture has been specified as opposed to the all too common marine grade plumbing fixtures found on competitive models.
Office option
The midship guest stateroom has been designed to accommodate an optional office arrangement. A comfortable seating position has been designed into the berth with a modular desktop that fills in the berth when not in use as a writing surface. This option will be appreciated by cruising couples who wish to have a dedicated working office space while not wanting to loose the sleeping capacity of the stateroom.
Pilothouse
The pilothouse will surely be a central locale for not only piloting but also socializing with family & friends. The view is second only to the flybridge. The settee in the pilothouse as well as the saloon has been designed with angled back cushions, providing a superior seating position over the all too common vertical seat backs found on most boats.
The helm station features a fully articulating leather captain's chair that provides both comfort & security thanks to the solid mounting & folding arm rests. The Diamond Seaglaze door allows easy access to the starboard side deck. As an example of the attention to detail on the Fathom is the fact that the pilothouse wheel station favors the starboard side while the flybridge station favors the port side, thus allowing you to position yourself in the most ideal position for either port or starboard side landing.
